Mentorship Update

Mentorship Update

By Edward Kuo, GenNext HD Mentorship Chair

Happy New Year!

It’s time to renew your GenNext membership for the 2016 calendar year!  We expect a strong showing of GenNext members in Las Vegas and it’s a great time to network with your fellow members.  We also expect 2016 to be a great year of new programs, created by GenNext!

The easiest way to renew is by using your credit card through the GenNext Website – http://gennext.wpengine.compay/.  If for some reason you need an invoice, please e-mail me directly at edwardkuo@hdexchange.com and I will create one for you.

Keep in mind the three pillars of GenNext:

  • Educate:  GenNext will host quarterly webinars as well as in-person educational events in conjunction with other marketing group meetings. The educational content will be geared toward personal development in management, sales/marketing, finance, and technology for our industry’s up-and-coming leaders.
  • Mentor:  Each new member has the option to be paired with a mentor in our industry. The mentors will provide invaluable contacts and information that will help the next generation of leaders catapult their way to the top.
  • Recruit:  GenNext will work with colleges and other recruiting centers to provide a pipeline of capable workers for our members and sponsors as well as promote the industry as a whole.

Also, we are always looking for active volunteers on GenNext projects, so if you want to maximize the value of being part of GenNext, get involved!

Thanks, and we hope you have a great year!

Recruitment Update

Recruitment Update

By Nikki Paschall, GenNext HD Recruitment Chair

It’s been an exciting quarter for recruiting! You might remember GenNext took 10 Northwood University students to HDAW last year as interns. Well this year we partnered with HDMA and vendor sponsors to bring 21 Northwood University students to HDAW’16. These students worked closely with their unique vendor sponsor to work on the trade show floor, attend education sessions, attend one-on-one sessions and network with industry professionals. We’d like to send a huge thank you to our vendor sponsors for helping this year!
